Whiskey glasses in bulk
Everywhere else on this site the question is which glass. At a dozen or more it becomes how many, how they travel, and what happens when six of them do not come back.
We have not tested these products and we do not pretend to have. Here is what we did instead. Links to Amazon earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and commission never decides what is on this page - disclosure.

| 1 | ![]() Anchor Hocking Heavy base old fashioned glasses, set of 12Top pickThe cheapest credible everyday tumbler here, American-made, dishwasher safe, twelve to a box. | A whiskey drinker who does not use big ice | 8 oz is the problem if the recipient owns a two-inch ice mold - the cube fits and the whiskey then does not. Check which kind of ice they use before buying, or buy the 11 oz instead. | |
| 2 | ![]() Libbey Restaurant Basics Stacking Double Old Fashioned, 12 oz, set of 12Twelve 12 oz double old fashioneds built to stack, with a rim-hardening process named on the listing and dishwasher safety stated. | The one that stacks | Stacking glasses can wedge together if they are stacked wet or warm, and separating them is how they get broken - dry them first. They are also plain restaurant glassware, which is the point but makes them a poor gift for one person. | |
| 3 | ![]() TOSSWARE POP 12 oz Rocks, recyclable plastic, set of 12Twelve 12 oz recyclable plastic rocks glasses that stack and lock together, at the lowest cost per glass on this page. | Outdoors, poolside and anywhere glass is banned | **Hand wash only** - the listing is explicit that the BPA-free material is not dishwasher safe, which is a real problem when you have twelve dirty glasses at midnight. It is plastic and reads as plastic in the hand, so this is an outdoor solution rather than a table-setting one. | |
| 4 | ![]() Libbey 917CD heavy base rocks glasses, set of 12The restaurant-standard 11 oz rocks glass by the dozen, freezer and dishwasher safe, at a price per glass nothing here beats. | Never thinking about glassware again | It is plain. Nobody has ever been moved by receiving one, so this is a stocking-the-house purchase rather than a gift - and twelve glasses need a shelf most kitchens have already allocated. | |
| 5 | ![]() Yiyiring Old Fashioned Whiskey Glasses, 12 oz, set of 24Twenty-four 12 oz glasses in one order, with a published weight and height per glass - the quantity that covers a real guest list in a single purchase. | The largest count here | No care guidance is published at all, which on twenty-four glasses is a meaningful omission - we would hand wash until you know. Twenty-four glasses is also a storage commitment most kitchens have not planned for, and the cut-style pattern is molded decoration rather than cut glass. | |
| 6 | ![]() Glencairn Whisky Glass, set of 12 in trade cartonTwelve official Glencairns in individual gift cartons, lead-free crystal, and the listing states dishwasher safe - which is rare for a nosing glass. | A tasting for a dozen people | It is the wrong glass for a general party - a Glencairn will not take ice and holds a small pour, so guests drinking whiskey long will be back at the bar constantly. At this price per glass it is also the most expensive option here by some distance. | |
| 7 | ![]() Hlukana Unbreakable Plastic Whiskey Glasses, 14 oz, set of 6Fourteen ounces and six to a box, gift packaged, at the lowest cost per glass of anything on this page. | Six of them, for the price of four | The listing says only 100 percent plastic and never names the polymer, where the Tritan sets do - so you cannot compare the material directly. It also describes a carved pattern, which on plastic reads as molded rather than cut. |
The glassware hub and its spokes all answer the same question - which glass suits this drinker. This page answers a different one, and it belongs to a different buyer: a wedding, a party, a tasting, a bar being stocked. At twelve or twenty-four the shape of the glass stops being the hard part.
Cost per glass is the only number
The price on the box tells you nothing at this quantity. A set of twelve that looks expensive beside a set of six is usually cheaper per glass, and the only way to see it is to divide. Do that before anything else, because it reorders the options more than any feature does.
We do not print prices in the copy on this site - they change and a typed number goes stale within a day - so the live price sits on each buy button below. Divide it by the count in the table and you will have the comparison in about a minute.
Buy more than your headcount
This is the part people get wrong. At an event glasses break, get set down and lost, go outside, and occasionally go home in a coat pocket. Twenty guests do not need twenty glasses; they need twenty plus a margin.
How big a margin is a judgment rather than a figure we are going to invent, and it scales with the glass: the cheaper the glass, the more generous you can afford to be. This is the strongest practical argument for the restaurant-supply packs below. At that cost per glass, buying a comfortable surplus is trivially affordable, and a broken one is an event rather than a disaster.
How we judged these
- Count and capacity published, so cost per glass and fit for a large cube can both be worked out from the listing.
- Does it stack? The specification nobody considers until they are carrying four boxes into a venue and looking for somewhere to put them afterward.
- Care, stated. At twelve or twenty-four glasses, hand washing is not a minor inconvenience - it is the end of the evening.
- Durability language that means something. A named rim-hardening process beats the word sturdy.
- Is it the right shape for the occasion? A party wants tumblers. A tasting wants nosing glasses. Buying the wrong one in bulk is an expensive mistake.
- Cost per glass at the quantity actually shipped, which is the criterion everything else is judged against.
Glass, or plastic?
Decide this first, because it rules out half the page. Glass is what you want indoors, on a table, where the event has a floor somebody will sweep. It feels correct in the hand and photographs properly.
Plastic is what you want by a pool, on a lawn, on a boat or at any venue with a no-glass rule - and a lot of venues have one, so check before you buy anything. The good plastic sets are clear enough at arm's length that nobody minds. The trade is usually in the washing up, and it is worth reading the care line: one of the picks below is explicitly hand wash only, which on twelve glasses at the end of a party is a genuine consideration. Unbreakable and travel glasses covers the outdoor question in more depth.
The engraving question
People arrive at this looking for engraved glasses in quantity - for favors, for a wedding party, for a company. It is worth being straight about how that market works, because the marketplace listings do not explain it.
Personalized glasses sold on a general marketplace are priced and produced per item. That is fine for four groomsmen and it gets expensive fast at fifty. Bulk engraving is a different supply chain - a specialty engraver or a promotional-products supplier - and the two questions that decide whether it is viable are the minimum order quantity and the lead time, neither of which a marketplace listing will tell you.
So the honest sequence is: buy plain glasses in bulk here if the quantity is large, and take them to an engraver, or order engraved-in-quantity direct from one. For a handful of personalized pieces rather than a crowd, personalized whiskey glasses is the right page, and whiskey gifts for groomsmen covers the wedding-party version including the lead-time trap.
Do not buy nosing glasses for a party
A tempting mistake, because nosing glasses are what a whiskey site talks about most. They are the wrong glass for a room full of people: they hold a small pour, they will not take ice, and guests drinking whiskey long will be back at the bar every ten minutes.
The exception is a tasting, where a dozen nosing glasses is exactly right and one of the picks below is built for it. If that is the event, whiskey tasting glasses covers the shape and whiskey tasting sets covers the boards and flights.
Storage, after the event
- Stacking sets go away in a quarter of the space. If these are going into a cupboard rather than a bar, that decides it.
- Dry before stacking. Warm or wet glasses wedge together, and separating a stuck stack is how they get chipped.
- Keep the box. For anything you will transport twice, the divided carton it arrived in is better than anything you will improvise.
- Twenty-four glasses is a shelf. Worth measuring before rather than after.

The picks

Top pick - A whiskey drinker who does not use big ice
Anchor Hocking Heavy base old fashioned glasses, set of 12
The cheapest credible everyday tumbler here, American-made, dishwasher safe, twelve to a box.
For neat pours, a small splash of water or standard cubes, 8 oz is plenty and the lower price follows. Anchor Hocking has made this glass domestically for a very long time and the weighted base is the reason these survive households that are hard on glassware.

Pick 2 - The one that stacks
Libbey Restaurant Basics Stacking Double Old Fashioned, 12 oz, set of 12
Twelve 12 oz double old fashioneds built to stack, with a rim-hardening process named on the listing and dishwasher safety stated.
Stacking is the specification nobody thinks about until they are carrying four boxes of glasses to a venue. These nest, which halves the space they take in a crate and makes them far easier to move and put away afterward. Libbey's DuraTuff process adds resistance at the upper portion, which is where a glass chips first in service.

Pick 3 - Outdoors, poolside and anywhere glass is banned
TOSSWARE POP 12 oz Rocks, recyclable plastic, set of 12
Twelve 12 oz recyclable plastic rocks glasses that stack and lock together, at the lowest cost per glass on this page.
Plenty of venues will not allow glass near a pool or on a lawn, and this is the answer that does not look like a party cup. The listing states each glass is made from up to one recycled bottle, and the stacking lock is a genuine convenience when you are packing twelve of them into a bag.

Pick 4 - Never thinking about glassware again
Libbey 917CD heavy base rocks glasses, set of 12
The restaurant-standard 11 oz rocks glass by the dozen, freezer and dishwasher safe, at a price per glass nothing here beats.
This is the glass bars buy, which is the whole recommendation: it is the right capacity for a large cube, the weighted base makes it stable, and at twelve glasses a breakage is an irrelevance rather than an event. Published as both freezer and dishwasher safe, which most of this category will not commit to.

Pick 5 - The largest count here
Yiyiring Old Fashioned Whiskey Glasses, 12 oz, set of 24
Twenty-four 12 oz glasses in one order, with a published weight and height per glass - the quantity that covers a real guest list in a single purchase.
Twenty-four is the number that covers a party without a second order, and buying once means every glass on the table matches. The listing publishes the detail that matters at this quantity: 12 oz capacity, roughly 3.66 inches tall and about 0.66 pounds each, so you know what you are storing and carrying.

Pick 6 - A tasting for a dozen people
Glencairn Whisky Glass, set of 12 in trade carton
Twelve official Glencairns in individual gift cartons, lead-free crystal, and the listing states dishwasher safe - which is rare for a nosing glass.
A party wants tumblers, but a tasting wants nosing glasses, and twelve is the count for a proper session. Each glass arrives in its own carton, so this doubles as twelve small gifts if you are sending guests home with one. Dishwasher safety stated on a crystal nosing glass is unusual and genuinely useful at this quantity.

Pick 7 - Six of them, for the price of four
Hlukana Unbreakable Plastic Whiskey Glasses, 14 oz, set of 6
Fourteen ounces and six to a box, gift packaged, at the lowest cost per glass of anything on this page.
For a boat, a pool or a rented cabin the right number is more than four, and this is the only set here that ships six. At 14 oz there is room for a large cube and a generous pour, and the listing states BPA-free and dishwasher safe.

Common questions
How many whiskey glasses do you need for a party?
More than your guest count. Glasses break, get put down and forgotten, and occasionally leave with someone. Buy a margin on top of the headcount - and the cheaper the glass, the more generous that margin can afford to be.
Is it cheaper to buy whiskey glasses in bulk?
Almost always, per glass. The box price is misleading; divide the live price by the count and compare that. Restaurant-supply packs of twelve are usually the lowest cost per glass of anything available.
Can you get whiskey glasses engraved in bulk?
Not usefully through a general marketplace - personalized listings there are produced and priced per item, which gets expensive at scale. Bulk engraving goes through a specialty engraver or promotional supplier, where the two questions are the minimum order quantity and the lead time.
What size glass is best for a party?
A 12 oz double old fashioned. It handles whiskey neat, whiskey over a large cube, and most cocktails, so one glass covers the whole bar rather than needing two kinds.
Should you buy plastic whiskey glasses for an event?
If it is outdoors, near a pool, or at a venue with a no-glass rule, yes - and check the rule before buying, because many venues have one. Read the care line, though: some recyclable plastic sets are hand wash only, which matters at twelve glasses.
Are stacking glasses worth it?
For anything you will transport or store, yes - they take roughly a quarter of the space. Dry them before stacking, because warm or wet glasses wedge together and chip when you pull them apart.
